It was another incredible year for Indiana high school volleyball.

It started with the inaugural IHSVCA Fall Coaches Clinic with our featured speaker, Anne Kordes and more than 170 coaches in attendance.  The level of play was top-notch throughout the state in 2017.  A number of schools were named to  the national rankings and Indiana had numerous student-athletes named to All-American watch lists.

Worthen Arena, on the campus of Ball State University, was once again the site for the IHSAA State Volleyball Finals on Saturday, November 4th.  Congratulations to Lafayette Central Catholic, Andrean, New Castle and Avon on winning their respective state championships.  See State Championship Review page.

New in 2017, the IHSVCA instituted the All-District Award to recognize those student-athletes that earned distinction in their geographic area within each class.  See the All-District list here.

First and second team All-State players were also named for each class.  See the 2017 All-State list here.

The IHSVCA received a large number of applicants for Academic All-State honors, 264 seniors earned this distinction.  See the Academic All-State list here.

Coaches were also recognized for their outstanding achievement.  The IHSVCA instituted All-District Coach of the Year, Assistant Coach of the Year to the State Coach of the Year for each class.  See the lists of All-District and State Coach of the Year winner here.

The inaugural IHSVCA All-Star match was held at Lawrence North High School on Sunday, November 19th.  Retired coaching greats, John Breeding (New Albany) and Wes Lyons (Muncie Central) coached the Junior All-Star teams.  See summary and pictures from the All-Star Classic here.
