The Bulldogs from Crown Point will take on the Avon Orioles in the 4A showdown.  Avon comes in ranked #2 in the state after sweeping #3 Providence in 3 sets to win the South Semi-State last weekend.  The 36-3 Orioles return 6 starters from last years team and are looking for their third State Championship in school history.  Crown Point comes in at 33-6 and #1 in the polls and are on a 24 win streak with their last loss coming to Avon back in September.  The Bulldogs are seeking a State Championship after a runner-up finish last year.

to MaxPreps.com statistics. Classmate Darian Goins
ranks 17th with 1,013 assists (10.0 per set).
Swept #3 Providence 3-0 to win semi-state
championship last Saturday.
Team returned six starters from last season’s 30-8
regional championship team.
Avon tied for first place in the Hoosier Crossroads
Conference with a 5-1 record this season.
Sixteenth year coach Sctt McQueen guided Avon to
its previous two state championships and runner-up
finish.

Crown Point returns to the 4A state championship
match – its second appearance – after settling for a
runner-up finish a year ago.
Bulldogs returned five starters from last season’s 36-4
state runner-up team.
School looking for its second state championship in
just under five months as the Bulldogs’ softball team
won the 4A crown back on June 10 with a 2-1 victory
over – Avon.
Team has won 24 straight matches. Last loss was a
2-0 decision at Avon on Sept. 2. Bulldogs entered
last year’s championship match on 28-match winning
streak.
Senior Morgan Chacon ranks 22nd in the state with
474 kills (4.6 per set) and 24th with a .380 hi􀦮 ng
percentage according to MaxPreps.com stats.
Classmate Alex Equihua is 5th in state with 1,090
assists (9.6 per set). Peyton Yelich, another senior
teammate, ranks among the state’s leaders with 125
total blocks (99 blocks solo, 1.1 per set).
Bulldogs defeated Class 2A state finalist Andrean 3-2
in season opener for both schools back on Aug. 14.
CP defeated two top 10 teams in last two matches.
Defeated #10 Michigan City 3-2 for the regional title
and upset #1 Yorktown 3-1 for the semi-state crown
last Saturday.
Team finished a perfect 14-0 (double round-robin) this
season to claim the Duneland Athletic Conference
title.
