Annie Drews becomes the first female athlete from Indiana to make the USA Olympic Volleyball team.  The 6’4 native of Elkhart, IN won two IHSAA state championships when playing for Sarah Hendricks and Lisa Pawlik at Penn High School.

She took her talents to West Lafayette to play for Dave Shondell’s Purdue volleyball squad.  She earned AVCA All-America honors in 2014 (honorable mention) and 2015 (second team).  She also earned honors with Northeast Region and All Big 10 recognitions twice.

The honors continued for Drews as she was named Most Valuable Player of the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Nations League after leading the USA to gold, including a team-high 33 points against Brazil in the title match.  In 2019 she was chosen Best Opposite in the FIVB World Cup.
