Being named Ms. Volleyball is more than being the best volleyball player on the court. It’s the impact a player has on the court, in the classroom and in the community. Charlotte Vinson’s legacy will live long after she graduates from Yorktown High School.

She was a four-year starter for the state and nationally ranked Tigers and was named 4A 1st team All-State three times, All-District, All-County and All-Conference all four years. Yorktown High School advanced to the 4A state finals twice.

Charlotte has the school record for career kills and reached the 1K career digs mark this season. She trained with the USA training programs and was a two time All-American at AAU Nationals for Club. She is one of MaxPreps National Player of the Year honorees.

Her story is more than volleyball, it’s one of inspiration. In May, Charlotte was life lined to Riley Hospital for Children and was on life support. There were questions if she would live to see the start of her senior year, and even if she were to recover, there were doubts if she’d ever play volleyball again.

Charlotte proved all the doubters wrong. She wanted to get back on the court with her teammates one more season. She wanted to play for her coach, Stephanie Bloom, again.

From not being able to serve a ball past the 10′ line in July to leading both teams in kills in the 4A State Championship match is a story of grit and determination built on her foundation of faith.

Inspiring yes.  Leaving a long legacy yes.  And yes, Charlotte Vinson is our 2024 IHSVCA Ms. Volleyball.
