More than 170 coaches from around the state joined us for the inaugural IHSVCA Coaches’ Clinic at Lawrence North recently.  Anne Kordes, our featured presenter, brought her contagious energy and passion for the game to set the day off with a bang.  The Cathedral and Roncalli boys’ programs demonstrated that guys like to play volleyball by going the paces by Coach Kordes.

The afternoon had sessions for beginning coaches with Steve Shondell demonstrating the basics of passing and Rhonda Low showing how to plan a great practice.

Jill Baisinger detailed her role as Director of Volleyball Operations to improve event management.  Technology for volleyball was also on the menu with Rhonda Low explaining how to podcast your matches.  A rep from Hudl was there to explain their time saving game scouting software.

Veteran coaches Jason Young and his Hamilton Southeastern team presented defensive systems.  Stacie Pagnard and her Columbus East setters demonstrated how to train your setters.

Jean Kesterson itemized how to develop a successful program.  Michelle York was master of ceremony for our official’s panel.  It’s always important for a sport to be on the same page as the officials.

Thanks to all of our vendors for supporting Indiana high school volleyball and the IHSVCA.  It was a great start to the IHSVCA, but we look for even better things in the future.
